Privacy Policy

PetCenter.pk (“we”, “us”) is a Pakistan-based online pet marketplace and digital pet-passport platform. This policy explains what data we collect when you use https://petcenter.pk and how we handle it.

When you create an account or post a listing, we collect:

• Your name (or display name) and the email or phone number you sign up with
• Your password, stored hashed (we never see your plaintext password)
• WhatsApp number you choose to display on your listings
• Pet details you post: name, breed, age, photos, description, price, city, area
• Optional pet health information you add to a passport (vaccinations, medical notes)

When you use the site we also automatically collect:

• Basic technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed
• A session cookie (named pc_token) so we can keep you logged in
• Aggregated usage data (e.g. how many people viewed a listing)

• Run the platform — show your listings, let buyers contact you, generate QR passports
• Send transactional messages: OTP codes, password reset, ownership transfer notifications
• Keep the site safe — moderate listings, detect spam, block abuse
• Improve the product — understand which features work and which break

We do not sell your personal information. We do not run third-party ad networks.

We share data only when we have to:

• Information on a published listing (name, photos, WhatsApp, city) is public by design
• Infrastructure providers (AWS for hosting and image storage, Google for OAuth login, Meta for WhatsApp OTP) process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms
• Law enforcement, where required by a valid legal order

We use one essential cookie (pc_token) to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. We may add basic analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) in the future — when we do, we will update this page first.

• Account data — until you delete your account
• Listings — until you remove them or your account is deleted
• Pet passports — kept as long as the pet record exists; QR codes are designed to last for the life of the pet
• Server logs — typically 30–90 days

You can at any time:

• Sign in to view, edit, or delete your listings
• Update your profile or change your password from Settings
• Ask us to delete your account and the data tied to it
• Ask us what data we hold about you

We hash passwords with bcrypt, serve the site over HTTPS, and store data in access-controlled databases. No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

PetCenter is not intended for children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced on the homepage or by email to registered users. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
